Abstract
From the ancient time music and medicine have been linked starting from at least the ancient Greek where Apollo was both the God of Medicine and the God of Music. The Chinese character for “medicine, remedy, drug” ( è—¥ ) is composed of two words:
Herb ( 廾) – on the top of the word and Music ( 樂 ) on the bottom.
廾 + 樂 = 藥
Herb + Music = Medicine
It is long held that music affects human health and emotion.
Highlights of presentation:
- Chinese Five Element theory revealed the connection between music and body-mind-spirit will be discussed.
